In Summary
Tara Williamson, Founder, and CEO started Pink Ink Tattoo LLC as a response to her own experience with Breast Cancer. As a nine-year breast cancer survivor, she has always focused on providing realistic, natural areola tattoos while providing personal, relaxed, and friendly experiences for clients. Over time she has grown this one-woman business into a family-based internationally recognized medical facility designed to feel welcoming and loving for anyone who steps in the door. Pink Ink Tattoo provides an experience like no other with services like no other for clients who want a truly memorable experience from start to finish.
The Origin
After a life-changing diagnosis of breast cancer and extensive research into her plan of care, Tara Williamson decided her course of action. Tara underwent multiple surgeries and procedures and prevailed in the fight for her life but this wouldn’t be the end of her story. After her surgeries and having healed Tara began searching for a nipple tattoo "expert" and was unable to find a specialist. With no recommendations and from feeling helpless she had her areola tattoo's performed by a nurse who did the best that she could but it just wasn't what Tara thought all survivors deserved. Tara was offered three options; bubble gum pink, chocolate brown, or nude. Feeling that these options were unacceptable for her as well as other survivors, she knew at that moment her life was about to change.
In April 2014 Tara founded Pink Ink Tattoo LLC. In the beginning years, she was a one-woman company that sought to make a difference in the lives of others by providing them with the finishing touches. Her extensive certified training and personal passion combined with prior decades as a nurse enabled her to provide a unique and customizable experience for clients. She wanted to inspire survivors like herself and others to live life to their fullest and to be comfortable with their bodies. With the support of her friends and family, she worked out of plastic-surgeons offices to provide her services in medical offices to ensure safety, security, and sanitary conditions were the best for clients. Still to this day she has continued to offer her services and expressed willingness to travel to help those in need. She even started Pink Ink Tattoo’s Day of Hope tradition to help those in need of her services before she committed to her own office because she knew she wanted to make a difference in other people’s lives.
Day of Hope
Tara knew that not only did she want to help provide the most realistic areola tattooing but to use her platform to give back to others who were going through breast cancer. In 2014, she held her very first Day of Hope event which helps women and men who are uninsured or underinsured to be able to receive areola tattooing at no cost to them. During Pink Ink Tattoo’s Day of Hope events, we work with other businesses, non-profits, charities, and community-driven initiatives to help fundraise and spread awareness. We partner with doctor offices, cancer hospitals, and non-profits across the country helping to reach others going through cancer diagnoses.
Pink Ink Tattoo gives back not only to the breast cancer community but to our local communities as well. Pink Ink Tattoo is involved in our local community holding events and partners with others to raise funds and awareness. Pink Ink Tattoo is honored to sponsor children's events and be part of the habitat for humanity’s house building. Pink Ink Tattoo has volunteered at local soup kitchens, church outreach programs, and other community initiatives. Pink Ink Tattoo is committed to helping those in need and will continue to use our platform to promote the betterment of others.
Pink Ink Tattoo’s Recognition
Over time what started as an idea to help others grew into an internationally recognized company that helps tens of thousands of people each year. In the process, Tara, our founder, has become an inspirational figure in the same communities that supported her rise and has always made it a point to provide purpose over profit. In this, she has helped many organizations, non-profits, community, and national efforts while always giving back to others. Her efforts haven’t gone unnoticed.
In October of 2014, just a few months after starting Pink Ink Tattoo Tara was featured in ABC 11 as part of breast cancer awareness months news segments. In the years to follow Tara would be featured in Oprah’s O magazine, Allure Magazine, CBS News, WRAL News, Survivor Fashion shows, Saks fifth Avenue- American Cancer Society Fashion Show, 1 of 100 Women To Know In America, and many more. She would co-produce and serve as a keynote speaker for My2ndAct, and speak at summits like the American Association of Breast Care Professionals Mastectomy, Sisters Network Zumba Breast Cancer awareness event, Survivor Glam Squad Cancer Makeover event, #Drink4Pink event benefiting UNCRex Healthcare Pink Ribbon Fund, and more. She traveled the country speaking, appearing, and supporting any initiative related to Pink Ink Tattoo and her clients. Being an early detection advocate herself she wanted to use her voice and position to help others. Through her many efforts in news, speaking's, podcasts, blogs, newspapers, magazines, radio, events, and televised features she changed an idea into an internationally recognized business that has touched over 147 countries while helping others from across the globe. All of which was made possible through the support of friends, family, and others.
Louisburg
Tara fell in love with Louisburg, NC due to its friendly, welcoming, and good-spirited ambiance. It was after almost eight years of working at her plastic surgeon's office she decided it was time to lease her medical facility in Louisburg. This has become known as Pink Ink Tattoo’s primary office. Tara knew she wanted to reach more survivors and to expand, adding more services for Pink Ink Tattoo. Tara completely remodeled the new office making it exactly how she envisioned, warm, inviting and a place where clients could feel safe, welcomed, and to be a resemblance of something that felt like home. Tara knew there was one special piece missing to Pink Ink Tattoo and it was permanent makeup. She had searched for years for that perfect fit, someone who understood the medical aspect but also could empathize and had compassion for women and men who have been through a life-changing event like cancer, alopecia, burns, hair loss, and more.
Pink Ink Tattoo’s Expanded Services
